All my life I've had one dream, to achieve my many goals.

I just finished uploading the videos of Burning Amber playing in Bray the other day. You can see it here!

Sooo.. what to say? We moved all our stuff out from Bray today. It's all in Mum's now which is a little crazy. We FILLED the entire room with stuff. Can't wait to play some Borderlands 2 again! I miss it. I want to finish it!

I have no idea why, but I love that picture. It's useful! I remember Eoin coming up to be almost upset and just looking at his hand and just saying "she said... I hope you don't mind the change!"

I did a review today for the Simpsons: Tapped Out. Check it out here, if you like! I am beyond addicted to that game. If you want to you can add me! RoperSeiler on Origin. *shudders* origin. Horrible service.

I bought a bunch of Homer statues (in game) and got the Squeaky Voiced Teen. That was kinda cool! I really really really cannot stop playing this game! I enjoy it so much. I can't ever figure out why, but I adore it. I love the Simpsons, though. I've watched it since I can remember. I love every episode, every story and every character. It's so much fun!

The Simpsons is the show for me, though. I love Family Guy, I adore South Park and I love American Dad and the Cleveland Show. But, the Simpsons is so fantastic. I could (and am currently) watch that endlessly. I just introduced Emz to the Simpsons now so we're watching it from the start. We're on season 4 at the moment and so far she seems happy! I'm looking forward to seeing how she finds it in the future!

I think I'll do my top 5 list again, but this time I'll do (adult) cartoons! I basically just did, but shh.. I need some space filler!

5. The Cleveland Show
4. Family Guy
3. South Park
2. American Dad
1. The Simpsons

I love all those shows. It's hard to even make a list! I've watched the Simpsons for so so so many years and I love every single episode, that's why they get No. 1. Plus they're No.1. So there's that! haha. anyway, to end this I think I should use one of my favourite Simpsons quotes. Take care!

I want to share something with you: The three little sentences that will get you through life.
Number 1: Cover for me.
Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss!
Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

Burning Wexford

BLOG TIME. Favourite time of the.. well.. now.. This blog comes to you in one part, written over the day. Two parts in one. I'm currently waiting for my lift to Wexford, so I am writing about last night's gig. Burning Amber played the Harbour Bar in Bray.

The band were fantastic. Check out (and please like) their Facebook page, Burning Amber! The light was shit so I had to use flash a lot, but still I got some good pictures! It was a mad fun experience. It was their first gig and I think they did a fantastic job! Great experience for them. They headlined, too. Not shabby.

They played 11 songs. They had to repeat the first song simply due to time running out, but it all went fairly smoothly. If you exclude the guitar cutting out, a string snapping and the drum sticks going missing at the start.

Their set was fun and easy to bop along to. It was really cool! I got loads of videos, but I have yet to check their quality. Beyond that, we're heading to Wexford now shortly so Mum can check out a house. Hopefully all goes well and she can move there. We lived there before, so we kind of know the area. But we'll see how it goes.

Ok.. so.. I saw how it goes.. It was.. interesting. Here's a breakdown of the day.

Playlist:
Muse - The 2nd Law
Tremonti - All I Was
Alter Bridge - ABIII
Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold

This basically made our car ride seem less long (aka shorter). It takes roughly 2 hours to get to where we were going. Wexford is a very backwards place. I have a quote to help quantify the mind boggling place that is Wexford.

A almost 9 years ago I got a necklace custom made from my Mom. She had it made in a place called "Wexford Silver". I went in there today to ask to get it cleaned and not only did he (Kieran) clean it, he did it for free. I knew it was dirty but I didn't really know how bad it was until he was done. He made it look like new. I adore this necklace. I wear it every day. It is the piece of art you see in the photo next to this paragraph thingy thing.

What else happened? I showed Emz the glorious (HA!) town of Wexford. I believe her next quote should sum up everything quite nicely.

Emz quote of the day - "in Dublin you find used condoms on the ground, in Wexford you find used tea bags"

I love that quote. There was a lot to see, today. I ran in to a really old friend from waaaaay back when. He happened to be in town just basically doing what we were doing for the day. That was pretty cool. He's wayyy taller now, but I guess that's the difference in 6-7 years.

<- I love this sign. The picture is fantastic, although I'm not sure if you can actually see it. If not.. y'know.. tough.

So beyond that it was pretty uneventful. The house we went to see with Mum was pretty much under construction, so it'll need to be checked back in on in a few weeks to see. Seems like a nice enough place, though. Sort of. All-in-all, good day. We got chocolate, so. There's that. I feel that the most appropriate quote I could think of pretty much sums up our trip once we hit Wexford. Take it easy, folks!

Fish in a Barrel.. or Aquarium..

I don't know why I sit down to blog when I am at my lowest point of energy on any given day. I'm never motivated enough to be funnier or more amusing.

As you can probably tell by the FEESH picture, we went somewhere with fish today! Sea Life in Bray, to be a little more precise. It is technically our last day in Bray as we are going to stay with mum until we move away to Norway.

Sea Life is far smaller than it deserves to be, but it's awesome. They have got some fantastic fish and other sea creatures. It's always good! But you'd be in and out in an hour, even if you take your time. It's not such a big thing. It's a lot of fun, though. Great place to bring kids, or Emz.

Tonight Burning Amber are playing. That's my friend Eoin's band. They should be good! I'll throw some photos up from that gig tomorrow, if I remember. I'm heading to Wexford tomorrow, should be a laugh. I'll probably throw pictures up from that, too.

Got the Muse album yesterday, it kicks ass. Make sure you get it! It's insanely amazing. I love it!

Beyond that, nothing interesting has happened. With the fact that I will probably have an extended blog tomorrow, I'll cut today short. But not without my daily quote!

you don't have to eat the ball to have a good time!

Stick to My Guns in a World Full of Weapons

I found the meaning of life. Unfortunately I am contractually obligated not to tell any one what it is. Contracts.. they hold the key to everything. You can gain and lose a job over a contract. You can make or break a life with a contract. Contracts literally can give someone everything they've ever dreamed of, or they could take it away.

I read a fantastic (but long) quote yesterday. I believe it needs to be seen! "Whenever I talk to a band who are about to sign with a major label, I always end up thinking of them in a particular context. I imagine a trench, about four feet wide and five feet deep, maybe sixty yards long, filled with runny, decaying shit. I imagine these people, some of them good friends, some of them barely acquaintances, at one end of this trench. I also imagine a faceless industry lackey at the other end holding a fountain pen and a contract waiting to be signed. Nobody can see what’s printed on the contract. It’s too far away, and besides, the shit stench is making everybody’s eyes water. The lackey shouts to everybody that the first one to swim the trench gets to sign the contract. Everybody dives in the trench and they struggle furiously to get to the other end. Two people arrive simultaneously and begin wrestling furiously, clawing each other and dunking each other under the shit. Eventually, one of them capitulates, and there’s only one contestant left. He reaches for the pen, but the Lackey says “Actually, I think you need a little more development. Swim again, please. Backstroke”. And he does, of course." - Steve Albini

It's insanely accurate and incredibly awesome. I simply HAD to share it.

Any-who, moving swiftly along. I can't help but notice that Norway is moving ever closer. Or I guess we're moving ever closer to Norway. We got our tickets yesterday for the 9th of October. 4 days later but I think that's probably a good thing. I'm looking forward to spending a little more time with my Mom and
family before I ship out.

I'm getting quite excited about spending some time with the Norwegian branch of the family lagoon. I would call it a tree but, y'know. It's a lagoon. It's got many different things in there and it makes for one interesting trip. I know some familiar faces that I'm looking forward to seeing again like Terje, Karoline and Jenny and there are a LOT of people in Emz life that I have yet to meet, which is also exciting.

I don't really know any one of there so well, but I'm looking forward to getting the people who are most important to Emz. Because they are most important to me as long as they make her happy! I think I posted a picture before but I can probably post it again for any new-comers. Do remember that my 2nd (I think) blog post is a basic description of any one that I will probably mention here.

So I think it's time for some top 5's. It's something I am always fond of, and I think it should be a regular segment.. or paragraph.. or whatever. If you have any suggestions, let me know! Today's top 5 should beeee.. top 5 hats.. not really though, it'll be my all time top 5 favourite songs. I have not yet decided if I will explain why they are my favourite songs. Ok, so, here we go.

5. Requiem - The Confession

Requiem is a stunning song. I love the lyrics, mostly. This band is one of a kind. If you haven't heard their album then do it. They're amazing. This band generally has the best lyrics. Two of the members are now in another band called Sons of the Damned. Check them out if you like the Confession, or just have good taste in music. They're good, too.

4. Simply Unstoppable (Yes Remix) - Tinie Tempah ft. Travis Barker & Katie Taylor

This song gets me pumped. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, I will get pumped for this song. Well, maybe not at a funeral or something, but in a normal situation.

3. Slither - Velvet Revolver

This song was one of the first songs I learned completely on guitar, and it's the only one I'm not sick of because I spent so much time learning it in year 1 of learning guitar. I love it.

2. Blackbird - Alter Bridge

Another stunning song. The lyrics are my favourite, but I adore the entire thing. I know it on guitar (probably backwards at this point). Amazing track.

1. Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold

This song is the one I used to get so many people in to A7X. I have a lot of fond memories of this song, and the people it reminds me of.

That's my list for today. Let me know if you have any ideas for any others. I tend to be pretty uninspired to make these types of things, but once I have an idea I can roll with it. Well, I think this is bloggy enough.

For the Win

I have spent the last 24 hours in Mother's house. Raping her Wifi and Enjoying the warmth. It's great spending time with her and the pets pre-Norway. Going to be a long and crazy trip, it's nice to be grounded before we go.

I have been updating the KJBcast YouTube channel since yesterday, too. Currently talking with some big companies to get permission to advertise. You'd think you could just advertise, but no. FOX threatened to sue us yesterday because we advertised the Simpsons Tapped Out game, so we removed it and immediately began making requests through the companies to advertise for them. A strange one. I would be delighted if someone advertised KJBcast for free, I certainly wouldn't sue them. I already have gotten KJBcast a press pass to Microsoft so I began uploading those videos instead. You can see them here.

It's pretty exciting how the page is moving, although I have been unable to work on it lately. No wifi means I can't spam the page with news. I do my bits on my registered days and so forth, but once I'm back in a wifi zone more permanently I will be back on regular update duty.

I created our website from scratch. I did the design, probably 80% of the media on it and I pushed it to where it is today. I love it. It's a lot of fun to see something come together from nothing. I'm incredibly proud of the work I have done. I hope to get the page a lot further in the future, but this is really only year one. We're already making a profit from Appy Gamer (an app we are part of, you can get it here). A business making a profit on year one is pretty damn good as far as I am concerned!

In other news (and I use the word "News" lightly), Emz and I have been having weird sleeping patterns lately. Allow me to script out last night for you.

Time: 3am
Location: Bed
I am asleep, Emz is not.

Emz: Ken, I can't sleep.
Me: Awh, I'm sorry. I'll fix it now, just listen.
Emz: What?
Me: Shh...
*several moments pass, still silence*
Emz: You better not be asleep.
Me: *wakes up violently* Huh? What? Oh, Sorry Babe. *falls back asleep*

Moral of the story? My sleepy attention span is apparently only marginally worse than my normal everyday attention span. There was another time that Emz woke up and screamed, which woke me and then I screamed from getting a fright and then she screamed louder because I screamed at her. We're a weird couple.

Anyway, I think that's enough blog for today! Enjoy your day/night/whatever!

I Found My Muse

So much new music out. Muse - 2nd Law is out on Friday, A7X just released a new track for Black Ops, a friends band in the U.S is about to have a huge killer announcement (which I can't talk about here..yet..), Ke$ha's new single is out tomorrow, Soundgarden's new album hits mid-November and Lana Del Rey just announced that she's releasing her album again with 9 (or 10) extra tracks. Been a huge few days for those announcements. I know there is more but I cannot remember them all. As I type this I am listening to the full Muse - 2nd Law album online. It's actually really good! Very.. different. Panic Station is so 80's it is unreal. I really really like that Chris sings on the album. His songs are really good. It's also a really good example of stepping out of your comfort zone to try something that really will pay off. We're (Emz and I) are going to see Muse in November in Vienna, Austria. It's going to be awesome.

It's a very varied album. I like it, though. I love when a band is willing to step so far out of it's comfort zone and it pays off. Emz said something that I can't get out of my head when I listen to the new Muse stuff. "Everytime Muse release an album they seem to lose 1 fan but gain 2". I love that. Taking risks pays off, regardless of losing the smaller fans. You build a die-hard fan base that'll never leave. It's really the best possible way to thrive as a band. I love the song "Follow Me" on the new album. It starts with Matt's Son's Hearbeat as the opening to the track, which is cute and awesome. Plus it has Nero so it really can't go wrong.

I love mixing music. I trained for 2 years to become a sound engineer, and I do plan to (eventually) continue and learn as much as possible. I love mixing and writing music. I often help others write more so, though. I have a few friends who often ask me for advice when I'm writing songs and such. It's a lot of fun to build something from nothing.

As the Muse album plays on, I remain happy to hear it. So far I don't see how this could lose any fans. It is so typically Muse. There's risk with a sense of familiarity, how is that worthy of losing a fan? I love it. It's an amazing album. Looking forward to receiving the pre-order on Friday morning. I strongly suggest you all get it if you like that sort of Muse-ic. Oh, and the Avengers. Get the Avengers. It's incredible. That is all. My quote of the day comes from Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, but I think it applies quite highly to this blog, and to Muse. With the end of the album comes the end of my blog. 10/10 album, 1/10 blog. It evens out somewhere along that line! Have a good'n!

Typing a Blank

I have successfully drawn a blank. Today I have accomplished very little. I watched a movie, played some Borderlands 2 and minded Finn, dad's dog.

Ever feel like you're a Coke trapped in a Fanta's body? Unrelated - Emz got her shoes in the mail today, except since we ordered them to Mother's home, we need to wait until tomorrow. She's really excited about that.

This blog will eventually have to become a weekly deal so that I can actually wait to have news to type. Right now the blog is all new and exciting, so you'll have to put up with my boring days!

I just discovered a new A7X (Avenged Sevenfold) song. Exciting news! They get a lot of negative press, but I love em. Them and Alter Bridge hold the top 2 spots in my "favourite bands" list.

I really like pretty much all their music. I've seen them a few times. I generally love everything about A7X. Their music and harmonies just hit me in the right way. I love so many different styles of music, though. Emz was discussing that with me earlier, actually. I love anything and everything. I like (some) Katy Perry and I love 3OH!3 and Ke$ha. I also love Soilwork, Alter Bridge, Avenged and Slash. My Taste varies. Broad Spectrum.

I've been rocking Tremonti's new album a lot lately, along with Sons of the Damned and Soilwork. All exciting stuff.

My friend Eoin's band is playing this Friday, that should be good. I'm doing their soundcheck and photography. They're good, I like their stuff. That's them in the picture above. They're really fun lads! All dedicated to the craft and all good musicians. I'll update the blog about their gig once it has happened! Look out for that. Anyway, quote time!

A Picture is Worth 539 Words

All day I have been thinking of great ideas for a blog. Unfortunately for anyone reading this, I have forgotten them all.

Today served little to no purpose, even though I did a lot.. sort of. I am not really sure how it started, but god damn it if I do not unlock Bart Simpson in the "Simpsons: Tapped Out" game on le iPhone, I will freak out. Emz and I have been watching a lot of Simpsons episodes lately. So MUCH stuff on our TV list. My mom keeps suggesting "The Good Wife" but I have had no motivation to start something new since Castle ended. Currently my TV list, as it stands:

30 Rock (x)
American Dad (√) Sept 30th 2012
Big Bang Theory (√) Sept 27th 2012
Breaking Bad (√) Summer 2013
Calaforniacation (x)
Castle (√) Sept 24th 2012
Chuck (√) N.A.
Cleveland Show (√) Oct 7th 2012
Desperate Housewives (x)
Dexter (x)
Entourage (√) N.A
Fastlane (√) N.A.
Fraiser (x)
Fringe (x)
Futurama (x)
Family Guy (√) Sept 30th 2012
Game of Thrones (x)
Heroes (x)
How I Met Your Mother (√) Sept 24th 2012
Lost (x)
Mentalist (x)
Mutant X (x)
Modern Family (√) Sept 26th 2012
Psych (x)
Rules of Engagement (x)
Sons of Anarchy (x)
The Good Wife (x)
The Office (x)
The Simpsons (x)
True Blood (x)
Supernatural (x)
Walking Dead (x)

The tick means I've caught up with it and the x means I haven't seen it all yet. N.A. means it won't be back and I've finished it. There are a LOT of shows there. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to pop them in the comments section below. There is a comments section, right? This list is made up from shows I want to watch, or Emz wants me to see with her, or people suggest. I'm always looking for new music and TV. Right now I have a huuuuge backlog of shows, though. Summer is the best time to catch up on TV purely due to a huge lack of good TV shows. TV season is always awesome, though. Every week there is something new and amazing. Summer? Nah. Don't get me wrong, there is some quality TV during the warm summer months. But not nearly as much as during the rest of the year.

On another note, we've been paying a lot of money to people we owe for crap we just don't care about. It's ridiculous. Things should not cost so much! The price of living in Norway is HUGE, buuuut of course they get paid more. In Ireland the cost of living HUGE, buuuut of course you get paid less. It makes no sense to me. I will gladly pay €4 for 3 pop tarts when you start paying me €20 an hour minimum wage.

I never understand how this country actually survives. It makes no money, so it pays people less, so they spend less, so the country makes no money. It's a dumb circle. The only way to fix it is to pay everyone more. But hey, I'm just a blogger, what do I know? Oh wait, everything! Thank you, google. Do you like this thing I'm doing with the pictures to match my story? Positive feedback is always nice.

I am in love with my laptop. For starters <- this doesn't happen anymore since I'm rocking the Macbook Pro. I wasn't sure that I'd notice a difference between my old laptop and this, but mannnn it's different. People are always complaining that Apple products are too easy. I don't know any point in my life where something is every too easy. I love easy. I have no problems with easy. Make life easier, make yourself happier. I don't want a piece of technology that makes my life a living hell. I just want things to work and do what I want, when I want. No load time, no wasted time. Just work.

I remember my mom was setting up our first fax machine when I was a kid. She spent a while just wiring it together and then she had to phone it to make sure it worked. It began ringing and for whatever reason she was so caught up in what she was doing that she blurted out "Fuck sake, someone ALWAYS calls when I'm in the middle of something" and stormed over the machine. I love my mom. When I run out of blog material, I'll just tell stories about dumb/funny things my family (and I) have done. That could fill the internet.

Anyway, on that note I will leave you with this quote.

You Can't Push

Four Score and Seven Year ago.. Some Stuff Happened

I have been staying with my childhood friend, Luke. So, logically a looooad of old stories have been coming up. It makes me wonder what stories I would tell my future children. It also makes me wonder why I was such an idiot as a teenager.

I have done many many MANY things as a young adult that I question now (as a slightly older young adult)....(ok fine, an adult.). If I could go back and talk to past me, I would as so many questions. Questions like why it was it so important to have a tag (graffiti) when I didn't spray paint, or why I simply HAD to fight every single teacher on every single topic. But that's life, I suppose. You do stupid shit so that you get it out of your system before you come to the point in your life where you have to put up with someone else's stupid shit.

The child in you never leaves, though. At least not completely. Case in point: I'm currently awaiting the food I put in the oven to finish so I can sit down with my beautiful girlfriend and watch Tin Tin. Tin Tin has been a mildly important part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad would always get me the books when I was growing up.

So, Tin Tin is now over and I am now full. I also have lost my train of thought. Going to Watch Mission Impossible 4 now. I can't remember if I liked the other 3 but Metallica and Limp Bizkit were on the soundtrack for 2 of em. Tom Cruise really doesn't sell me to a movie. Except Top Gun. He's the boss in Top Gun.

I suppose that wraps things up for today. I don't know where I was going with this and I'm incredibly distracted by this movie.

It took me fifteen years to discover I had no talent for writing
But I couldn't give it up, because by that time I    was too famous.

The Animals Went in Two by Two..

I'm pretty sure the guy who serves us our coffee was kidnapped, returned and is now being spied on. How's THAT for a blog intro?!

It has been the longest day, so this won't be the longest blog ever (it totally will). Where to begin? We had to get up at 9am. I know I know. People get up wayyyy earlier than that for work. I am not one of those people. We owed our old landlord some cash, we dropped it off today and she was busy, so we knocked and waited and knocked and waited. Finally just left it in her yoga studio (which we used to live over) and fucked off. Went to (finally) collect Borderlands 2 Collectors Edition, which I pre-ordered MONTHS ago. Nope. Wasn't there. Gamestop are terrible when it comes to anything, lately. The dude asked us to wait, so we waited. and waited and waited and waited. and waited. and waited. and waited. Finally we decided to go see Total Recall in the cinema while we waited. It made me wonder if there is such a company that could control your memories, and if so, could they make me forget that movie. It looked fantastic, visually. But damn the acting was weird and the story was all over the place. Got the call mid-movie. Went down to pick up le awesome game and I got told that I was (luckily) customer no.5. They got 5 out of the 11 Collectors Editions that they owed. Seems like terrible business to me, but whatever. I got my game.

Isn't it a beauty? Yes. "Yes" is the answer. I haven't played much. An hour here, an hour there. What I have played has been awesome, and once I'm in a less "I'm grumpy and I know it" kind of mood. It came with a bobble head. This is my first ever bobble head (I think) so it's a big deal (I think)! It also comes with a map (of Pandora. Not some random map of Africa or something.) (Which would actually be a map of downtown London simply titled "Africa" if Apple provided it).  It also came with many digital goodies and, of course, the game. I LOVE Borderlands, so there was never a doubt would I be getting this'n. So far, I don't regret it. I do, however, regret going through Gamestop. Anyway, that's a blog for another day (or a post for a KJBcast day).

Sooo.. sup? How are you? What's new? How's life? Glad we got the small talk out of the way, there. Now we can get to the good stuff.

... It doesn't appear I have any good stuff. I've pretty much caught you up on my day, and since this is (apparently) a daily blog, I guess my work here is done. 14 days until D-day.. or N-day, I guess. Looking forward to Norway! I'll miss my Mom and family and such, though. I'll also miss the farm! 2 cats, 1 turtle and 1 dog. The Turtle is called Squirt, the white and black cat is Gabriel, the Tri-pod is Suki and that flying mess is Evie. The most unique and amazing animals you'd ever meet! You'll hear plenty about them once I get SUPER homesick in week 2 of Norway. Look forward for that blog!

I guess this wraps up this blog. See you tomorrow.. maybe..

Pongry Birds

So we've done the introduction and we've done the character guide, what's next in the Story guide 101? "Chapter 1 - Some stuff happens". This post will probably be scattered as I'm still not 100% on what it is I am supposed to do. I assume blogging is much like writing a story. I've read a handful of blogs and all of them are really just a day to day guide in the life of..... and so forth. I asked Twitter for advice, and it prevailed! I got an immediate response from a friend with some pretty good advice. "Just promote the shit out of it and stick to what you're interested not what's trendy. Think about what kind of blogs you read yourself and you might get inspired".

So what am I interested in?

Music, Instruments, Photography, Animals, Travelling, Gaming and Technology. Now, how do I combine that into one awesome little blog? I like the idea that I'm actually speaking to someone else, so the format will probably have to remain this way. I've read more books and autobiographies than blogs, so this is just what I'm used to! I know they're not even nearly the same thing but hey, you're not forced to read this! I'm all for constructive criticism. Constructive over destructive though, please.

I have absolutely no speaking skill. Typing skill, perhaps. But whenever I say something, it usually isn't the way I mean it. I was never really good with the expression in a sentence. I say something and it sounds angry, so people assume I'm angry (logically). I used to work customer service in a supermarket. That was unusual. I hated the fake smile and such, plus I'm not really the type of person who takes crap. If someone gives me a tiny bit of aggression, I tend to blow up in their face. I prefer the anonymity and lack of permanence when it comes to typing, particularly like this. You may know who I am and what I look like, but I've had a lot of time to redact anything that I think is stupid or overly-hostile, but in the real world once you say something, that's it. No going back. It always seems so permanent. I guess in a blog it is too, once you hit publish. But even then, you have an edit button. Careful wording adds a lot more pressure when it comes to day to day life. Anyway, this is not good blog material! The lack of permanence with your words is just something that makes blogging easier than one-on-one interaction.

So, music? I can never understand someone who doesn't like at least some sort of music. I'm ok with the fact that people don't like my music, but if you don't like music at all? Fuck. What do you do when you're bored or angry or sad? My favourite thing to do when I need to vent is just take it out on my guitar, or just blast music through my skull. Even as I type this I'm listening to American Capitalist by Five Finger Death Punch. Music is a fantastic escape from anything and everything. What is the last song you listened to?

Technology. I am a tech-whore. I love pretty much anything tech. I really like Apple, they're just so easy. I know there's a lot of anti-apple out there but honestly, I don't care. Different strokes for different folks. Apple need a better company face, now. They keep suing everyone. So does Samsung. It's all so petty and dumb, honestly I just want my iPhone and I want you to shut the fuck up. I don't care what came from where, I just care that it works and I can use it. If you like Samsung, Nokia, Apple, or some other brand, who the fuck really cares? Taste used to be individual! Now I just get judged for the logo on the back of my phone or computer. I have a MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad. Judge away! Honestly, I love it. I have a developer account with apple, so I make my own apps and I love it. Nothing published, yet. But I haven't tried.

Currently I have an app awaiting launch for my Sister's (Marie) School, Harmania. It's nothing fancy, yet. It's just a basic app with some introductory information about the school and a few little features. Nothing major, just something to play around with. I've made a few games like "Pong" and shit like that, but nothing major. Maybe I'll just combine it with angry birds. "Pongry Birds". Patent Pending! I'd make millions just because of the Angry Birds name.

Photography is something I've always loved. Since I can remember I've been a shutterbug. Taking pictures of anything and everything. My first real digital camera was this little awesome thing. It literally ate batteries like nothing I've ever owned. Great times, though. I then got a little red camera my mom had and started filming a skating movie (y'know.. logical first choice when you get a mini video camera). Currently rocking a Canon EOS 1000D. Probably the best camera I've ever had! When we took a road trip through Norway 2 months ago, I got lucky with this shot from a Waterfall just outside Bergen.

I love nature and animals too. Everything looks so beautiful when it's natural. I always question why models aren't in nature so more. If you want to make someone look beautiful, it makes sense to take the photos in a beautiful place. Either way, if you ever get the chance to go to Norway, go there! I'm not 100% on the exact location, but really it doesn't matter. Any waterfall will do! They're all stunning. Case in point, the photo below was taken a few hours and many a mile later.

Literally mid-blog I got called over to my neighbours house to see the Daughter off the the Debs. For those who don't know, a Debs is like a Prom. She looked amazing. Very film-noire. I brought the camera and got more pictures. I love taking pictures! Capturing a moment for infinite time is always fascinating. I have literally taken thousands of photos in my life and yet I can still remember how I felt during each moment. I couldn't possibly tell you the greatest moment in my life because I've had so many, but I'm happy to have them to look over as much as I like. I'm also happy to have a new place to share them! I found a quote that I absolutely adore, so that's the perfect way to sign off. Until next time, blogaholics!

The Diary of Kenifant

Disclaimer: This is more of an introduction to the people you'll be hearing about over the next few months. This blog isn't really going to start until I move to Norway. I'm just filling in some of the gaps as I go.

Norway is growing ever nearer. I am a little skeptical of moving to another country after my previous experiences in a foreign land. I should probably explain... but I won't. *worlds worst blog*

I moved to Germany in late 2010. I pretty much hit Germany at the start of October, much like I will be hitting Norway. I lived in Germany for the better part of 6-8 months and I got sued for €1,200, damaged my bosses car, went a little crazy and off the rails and lost myself in a big bad way. Also, I came up with an album, a movie script involving my old band (Zebra) and made some designs for a pretty badass robot, so it wasn't all bad.

My fears are that I will somehow bring this "Kenifant" (Kenifant. Plural: Kenifantastics. Definition: A mythical creature. Half Ken, Half Elephant. Known for causing mass destruction completely by accident. Not to be confused with the dimwitted oaf.) luck with me to an otherwise peaceful country. I have no intentions of causing harm to Norway, of course. I love it there! But still, my luck proceeds me. My German boss dubbed my Kenifant after I wrecked.. well.. everything! Either way, if all else fails, this blog should make a somewhat decent book after I've been shot down for the attempted murder of a hotdog vendor, when really I was just trying to tie my shoelace or something. "The Diary of Kenifant" they'll call it. Millions it'd make me. Well, if I wasn't shot down.

I suppose I could talk more about the people in my life, as I'm really unsure of what else I should talk about. I've already told you guys about numero uno, Emz, so I'll push on. However, you should check out her side of life from her new blog! I've got Fahy. Fahy, as I said in the last post thingy, is my oldest friend. I've known him since forever. My age was in a single digit when we met, but just barely. He has one photo that he hates, so obviously that is the best choice to use. I actually am living with him at this exact moment in time. We're (Emz and I, not Fahy and I) are saving for our long-term trip to Norway, so we needed a place to crash with little to no rent. He stepped up to the plate, so for that (and that alone) I will leave at any and all embarrassing stories of him.. until a few months from now and I've forgotten I promised that, or until he pisses me off. Whichever comes first.

Eoin (Aka: Onion) is an interesting breed of human. If I could use one drink to describe him, it'd be a b-52 shot. Coffee Liqueur, Baileys and Marnier all carefully mixed together. The coffee represent his hyper, psychotic nature. The Baileys is his smoothness when it comes to anything and the Marnier.. well.. I have no idea what the fuck that is. He's my musical counterpart. We play guitar all the time and work on music together simply because we know how to bounce ideas around one another in the best possible way.

Summer of 69' just came on shuffle. I wonder if that was Bryan Adams's's's's way of blogging. I think my blogs would be far more interesting with a 4 chord structure and some B-ry Adams vocals. That ain't gonna happen, though. Don't get your hopes up. I had to skip the song, I was mere seconds away from trying to pass his lyrics as blog material.

Alright, so. Who's next? Seriously, I'm asking. I honestly have no idea. I guess we can discuss some of the KJBcast crew. Those are probably the people I've spent the most time with in the last billion months (7). I'll do them all in one go, since they're basically one giant awesome friend, as apposed to a platoon of friends.

This photo is from our final podcast before I head off to the Scandinavian capital (that may or may not be true). Ok so from left to right we have Kev, I worked with him in Tesco (a supermarket chain that treats it's employees about as good as it's stock). He is actually how I met the KJB. The KJB is a gaming clan that has spun out of control and now has podcasts, websites, facebook pages and far far more. We do get constantly mistaken for a religious group of the same name, but realistically I think we're all ok with that. A little worship never hurt anyone... I think. I had gotten a nice lil' paycheck from work and I asked Kev if he thought I should get an Xbox of PS3 and he convinced me to get an Xbox and XBL Gold. I did, I met the guys and here we are. Kev has a great sense of humour, it's always fun to try and make him laugh. It's almost rewarding to make him laugh since his laugh is so infectious. Not because he has leprosy and he breathes out when he laughs or something, just purely because you can't help but laugh when he does.

Next up we have Jack. As I said before, he's the Sheldon Cooper that Sheldon Cooper wished he was. Oddly enough, Jack is also the one I get along with the most. We share a similar line of interests. Comics, Videos Games and Movies. He is far more into comics than I am, though. He knows things about comics that I (nor anyone else) could possibly know. He's also far far smarter than he needs to be. He also doesn't drink (alcohol), so I'm sure there is some sort of scientific reason that he is both smart and sober. He is also a meme-aholic. I've never seen someone with such an addiction to internet memes.

Next we have me. But you're going to be sick of me by the end of this blog, so I think I'll skip me. Finally we have Jay. He's secretly the funniest person I have ever met. I'm never sure if he's funny on purpose or not, but I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life as I do when I'm around Jay. Our podcast would of been terrible without him. It's kind of funny that he wasn't even supposed to be on KJBcast. Someone else was going to be on our first podcast and just didn't show up so Jay just stepped in and saved the day, and the podcast.

Who's next? I can probably do a quick tackle of the family and wrap this up, this is less of a blog and more of a novel(ty). First up we have mother. She has been/is/will always be one of the guys more than my mom. All of my friends adore her and she has pretty much taken care of all of them at one point or another. Pretty much all of my closest friends have lived with me at some point or another, and a lot of people who aren't even in my life anymore. I'm sure there is a link there, somewhere. She is one of the most giving/caring people ever. I consider myself lucky to have her in my life! Also with mother, myself and Emz in this photo is Emz mom. Emz mom is absolutely out of her mind in the best possible way. Her laugh could fill a stadium.

Next up we have my awesome sister, Cat. She got the brains and the beauty in the family. It left me with very little to work with. She's probably the funniest person you'll ever meet in your entire life. Sadly (for me) she lives in California. It pretty much means seeing her once a year (if I'm lucky), if not then it is two years until we get her back over here (Ireland). She's studying hard and working harder. Couldn't be prouder!

I've got my Dad next. He's crazy, sane, serious and hilarious all at the same time. He's funny in the silliest way, but I love that. He's awesome. He has been in my life since I was 5 or something. Maybe older, maybe younger? Who knows? or cares? He got me in to a lot of the music I like today, such as Guns n Roses and many others. He's awesome. Silly, but awesome.

I have also got a sister on Dad's side. Marie, she's awesome. She has her own music school and has probably been on stage more times in her life than could be counted. Incredible performer. Her music school (in Dublin, Ireland) is awesome, you should check it out. It's called Harmania

My Granny (Dad's Mum) has probably been closer to killing me out of frustration more than anymore, but she is fantastic. She's almost a stereotype of an elderly lady. She has put up with me for my entire life. Retirement indeed. I probably brought far more chaos down on that poor woman than she could handle, but she persevered. She also thought me how to sit at a table correctly, hold a knife and fork and, of course, not to swear in front of the elderly or you'll probably get grounded. Whilst that threat has less meaning now, the lesson still holds up.

Finally (I think/hope) we have Ole. Emz Dad. He's awesome! He's very easy to talk to and get along with! We'll be crashing at his in Norway for a while so we can figure out what to do next when we get there. He lives right next to everything (not literally), It's pretty awesome.

Oh wait, one more. But this is more a build up to the future. We've got a few of Emz friends, that'll probably be mentioned in this blog quite a bit seeing as we're going to be living close to them. I'll just mention the few most important ones to save time, but the rest will probably be mentioned. If I left someone out, don't take offence! I'm also not sure if I have a photo of everyone, I've only been there 3 times and Emz has like.. 5 Billion friends.

They are all really nice people. From left to right, straight across. Emz, Jenny, Terje, Julie, Rachel, Jenny (again) and Karoline. Jenny is Emz best friend. Emz pretty much talks exclusively about her, so I'm positive she'll come up again in the blognessness. Terje is Julie's boyfriend, Julie is Jenny's sister and Rachel is friends with them from the stable. Karoline is also one of Emz best friends. I think I've seen her more than any of the others. They're all insanely nice and incredibly friendly. Considering I don't speak Norwegian, they've all made it very easy for me to be there and made me feel really welcome. The reason I picked the horse photo is because EVERYONE in Norway seems to have a horse. But that's just a build up to something I will no doubt mention a lot in the future.

FINALLY, we're done. Jeeze. That was huge! I hope the rest won't be this long. I spent almost 2 hours trying to locate photos and such. Besides photos that I'm in, I think I took all of these. I pretty much will exclusively use photos that I have taken, I think. I love taking photos, so it makes sense. I don't really know if I have a sign-off or something for a blog, nor do I know how to end it. So bare with me while I experiment! I'm honestly typed out now so this life advice will have to do!

Welcome Aboard

Captains Log.
Star date: 2012.262

Who knows if that star date is accurate. I googled star date in an attempt to make it accurate but I fell victim to the "effort" curse. According to the latest movie, it's accurate. But, in my searches for the correct star date, I found out that we've had 262 days this year. So.. that's something.

Since this is my first blog (or post or whatever) I should explain something: Realistically, I have absolutely no idea about blogging. I don't know if I am supposed to talk to myself, talk to someone else, if this is a journal or if this is some sort of way to intertwine with emotional feelings or a day to day guide to my world. I will be doing things my way. I'm talking directly to you, I'm probably not going to be emotional and I certainly won't do this daily. Also, I've have barely seen any Star Trek (and to be honest, I'm fine with that).

What do I do all day? Nothing and everything is a pretty valid answer to that. I love gaming, so that takes up most of my week. A fine example of this: We (Emz - Emily, The Girlfriend and I) just moved out of our apartment and the week before we had to move I sat down to hunt these two achievements:

These took days to get. Days I should of spent packing, probably. I'm highly unmotivated to accomplish real life goals. Why bother? I get rewarded for my gaming accomplishments. I usually have very little to show from things that are far more difficult in real life. I'm still alive, that's probably my finest accomplishment to date. If you're reading this, then it's presumably yours too.

Emily is my girlfriend of exactly 1y6m20d (I logically should of checked that with something on Google, but no. I sat here working it out on my hands.). She has been the highlight of my life for approximately 4 days now. That's a lie. I'm just hoping she read that and got a little fright. My second favourite past-time... Passtime?.. Passed-time?.. Passotimeo?.. My second favourite way to kill time is to scare her. Not like shouting "EVERY DAY BRINGS US CLOSER TO DEATH!!!" or something, just by jumping out from behind a door or convincing her there is a spider in the corner. The beautiful creature I claim as my own is in the picture below.

This was taken in London. That shuffle-bag of flowery goodness was (un)officially my first gift to her, actually.

What else do I do? Gaming. I know I said that but seriously, it's pretty much all I do. I've probably spent more time playing video games and playing around with computers and gadgets than I have training for life via education. I'm not one of those people who thinks education is a waste of time or something. Far from it, actually. But, I do believe that the education system here (in Ireland) is far far far slower than it needs to be. Anyway, fuck that.

I have a dog..kinda. It's more of a ball of energy, and it lives with (and is owned by) my Mum. But I will forever claim it as my own! I also have a three-legged cat called "Tri-pod". Not really, he's called "Suki". But my friend Dáire called him "Tri-pod" once and it stuck. For your viewing pleasure I have put a photo of the cat, dog and missus below!

I also run a website/podcast with these happy fellows below (the exceptionally happy fellow is me). From left to right we have Jay, Jack, Kev and I. If you hear any of those names in the future, it's probably about them. Our website is KJBcast.com. Check it out, enjoy it, love it. It's a gaming news website. Our tagline is basically Gaming news, reviews, opinions and gossip. We give it all! A little less lately, mind you. We're all pretty damn busy. We did a podcast, it's actually how all of this (KJBcast) started.

The podcast idea came up from Jack (I think) and then he and I just pushed it in to existence, then the website kinda came naturally and now we're just a website because I'm heading to Norway in 17 days. Which leads us to why I started the blog in the first place. It's a way for me to remember what happened while I was there. So basically, I can barely keep up with the work load of posting stories to KJBcast and I took on a blog. Good move, Ken (oh, I'm Ken btw)

Sooo.. what's next on the "Things I'm About" list? Guitar, probably. I love music. I love listening to it, I love writing it and I love working on it. In Norway I will (hopefully) be working for PScrew Bergen. They're a stage crew. The best company I've come across in my many years on this planet (I can has job now?). Anyway, I've played guitar for many a year now.

What else? I'm not really sure. I think I will just have to wing it as I go. Basically, I have some awesome friends, awesome taste and I'm all round awesomeness. Of course, it could just be me who thinks that.

left to right: Fahy (oldest friend, not by age but by time known), Kevin, Myself, Aisling (Kev's Missus), B-ry, Jay and Ciara (also a couple, and exactly at the same point of the photo which makes it insanely difficult when trying to name from left to right. Typical Jay), Eoin (aka Onion, known almost as long as Fahy), Jack (the real Sheldon Cooper - Big Bang Theory), Mother (not a nickname, she's actually my mom), David and Niamh (Onion's Missus).

Basically, that's my life.
